The winners of the 2021 AUVSI Chapter/Member of the Year Awards were announced at XPONENTIAL in Atlanta on Thursday, Aug. 19.
AUVSI North Carolina was named the Chapter of the Year. Gary Bullock of the AUVSI Indiana chapter was named Chapter Leader of the Year.
For the second year in a row, AUVSI North Carolina also took home the award for Chapter Recruitment, increasing their membership by 44% this year. AUVSI Israel won the award for Chapter Development. AUVI’s Lone Star Chapter won the award for Chapter Communications.
“AUVSI is the world’s leading organization representing unmanned systems – and our chapters play a critical role in our work to engage the industry, both at the community level and worldwide,” said AUVSI President and CEO Brian Wynne. “Even while we were unable to convene in person, those recognized today helped ensure that our members were able to access even more opportunities for education, networking, and cross-domain problem-solving than ever before.”
Suzanne Murtha, was named the Member of the Year. In addition to serving as an active member of the AUVSI Board of Directors, Murtha chaired a working group and helped put together our first Automated Freight Symposium.
“She is collaborative by nature, and brings a discerning perspective to any discussion, and is a true joy to work with. In her role with AECOM, she brings passion and experience to supporting the transition to advanced future mobility, and we’re truly appreciative of the time and attention she lends to the Association,” Wynne said.
“We are grateful for all your support and contributions this year and congratulate all the winners.”
