A group representing US defense drone companies is asking for a boost in the domestic industrial base in order to meet the Pentagon’s plan to field thousands of autonomous systems.
The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International announced a campaign for drone competitiveness at an event Thursday. The campaign aims “to level the playing field” with tax incentives, reimbursements for local police departments that have invested in Chinese drones, grant programs to increase drone use for federal infrastructure inspection, and modernized acquisition methods for defense technology.
