Dawn of Drones | Episode 109: STEAM Through Drones

Successful drone programs require an educated and inspired workforce. This week on the Dawn of Drones, Join Dawn and Dr. LaQuata Sumter, CEO of STEAM thru Drones, a subsidiary of Focusing On Me, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to STE(A)M initiatives, as they close out an informative month dedicated to “Building Program Success” and sponsored by USI.

STEAM thru Drones focuses on introducing drone technology to students and teachers in areas with limited exposure to drones by offering a diverse range of activities: summer camps, after-school programs and sessions tailored for K-12 public and private schools, churches and nonprofit organizations. Their primary objective is to acquaint students with drone technology while cultivating a passion for STE(A)M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) among students residing in rural areas. 

LaQuata’s appearance is endowed by Volatus Aerospace, as part of the company’s continuing “Above & Beyond Series.” This series recognizes the people and companies, agencies or organizations in the UAS/AAM ecosystem whose efforts go above and beyond to advance the industry!
