AUVSI CEO Speaks to Oil and Gas Leaders

Last week, Brian Wynne, President and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), delivered remarks at the virtual Data Driven Drilling and Production conference hosted by Reuters. The commercial unmanned aerial system (UAS) industry, along with unmanned maritime systems (UMS) are playing increasingly vital roles in enhancing the safety and efficiency of energy facilities by allowing for the unmanned inspection of powerlines, pipelines, and other critical assets, and in fact the opportunity to converse directly with oil and gas leadership was quite timely. The FAA has indicated that there will be a forthcoming rulemaking on UAS industrial infrastructure inspection, on which AUVSI looks forward to working closely in coordination with industry leadership in 2021.

This is yet one more example of how the unmanned systems industry is delivering solutions that enhance safety, and AUVSI appreciated the opportunity to appear at this event.
