Louisiana Pelican Chapter Formed!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the formation of the Lousiana Pelican Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI). The Pelican Chapter will support and advocate for mobile robotic systems in the Air, Maritime, and Ground (AMG) domains within the business, government, and academic communities. Our robotics community stands on the cusp of a burgeoning industry that is clearly a disruptive and exciting technology that will bring enormous benefits to society. Moreover, our Pelican Chapter vision is to be a contributing partner of the AUVSI vanguard that provides assistance to our Robotics AMG community and to both advocate and provide leadership to help us all grow and prosper.

Louisiana is a growing AMG incubator, especially in the area of approved FAA 333 exemptions and soon working under the Small Unmanned Aircraft Regulations (Part 107), our current maritime domain operating ROVs, AUVs, USSs worldwide. We are thrilled to be a part of the AMG community here in Louisiana.

Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM) and Risk Management may be new concepts to commercial sUAS operators, but they are integral components to ensuring safety in the National Airspace System. This free webinar will guide sUAS operators though both concepts and then show how they can be applied using real-world scenarios. The future of Part 107 Regulations depends on continued safe sUAS operations in the National Airspace System. Learning and applying these two concepts to your commercial sUAS operation will pay huge dividends now and into the future.
