Media Advisory: Webinar on UAS Regulatory Landscape

Regulators and industry stakeholders discuss the future of UAS

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) will host a webinar to discuss the evolving regulatory landscape for UAS and what that means for the future of the UAS industry. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. EST.

“Regulatory and Stakeholder Perspectives on the Future of UAS” will feature frank discussions between representatives from AUVSI, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the UAS industry regarding the challenges of safe integration of UAS technology into the national airspace. The webinar will provide the opportunity to hear directly from FAA regulators as they answer the most pressing questions facing the UAS industry today.

Brendan Schulman, vice president of policy and legal affairs at DJI, the world's leader in the civilian drone and aerial imaging technology industry, will speak from the industry’s perspective on the commercial potential for drones in the current regulatory environment. Attendees will also hear from Manny Cruz, Acting Manager, Safety and Operations Branch at the FAA, who will offer a regulator’s approach to safe integration of UAS.

Registration for the webinar is complimentary for AUVSI members and qualified media, and $49 for non-members. Registration will close on Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. EST. For more information or to register, contact Tom McMahon at tmcmahon@auvsi.org or (571) 255-7786.
