AUVSI to Host Webinar on Automated Truck Platooning
Automated vehicle experts will discuss truck platooning operations and the technology’s economic impact

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) will host a webinar to discuss truck platooning operations, the challenges facing the industry and the economic impact of increased automation. The webinar will take place Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at 3 p.m. EST.

“Truck Platooning: Steps Towards 1st Generation Automation,” sponsored by NavTechGPS, KVH and FLIR, will feature a discussion on the implications of truck platooning. Many automated vehicle analysts agree the most effective use of automated vehicles the public will experience in the near future is truck platooning. On-road trucking automation will allow safer and more efficient transport of goods across the long distances that have traditionally taken a toll on human drivers.

The webinar will feature Richard Bishop, principal, Bishop Consulting and Josh Switkes, founder and CEO, Peloton, who will discuss their experiences with truck platooning and outline their vision for the future.

Registration for the webinar is complimentary for all attendees. Registration will close on Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. EST. For more information or to register, contact AUVSI@clsstrategies.com.
