AUVSI to Host Webinar on Navigating the Regulatory LandscapeTowards BVLOS Operations, June 10

Transportation agency veteran to discuss applying for a part 107 waiver

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) will host a webinar, “Navigating the Regulatory Landscape Towards BVLOS Operations,” on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 1 p.m. EDT.

The webinar will review the regulations affecting Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flight and the factors involved in successfully navigating the regulatory environment to achieve a waiver from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Trever Linn, Director of Airspace Integration at Iris Automation and a transportation agency veteran, will discuss what operators should expect before applying for a waiver, and the key components such as risk mitigation measures and CONOPS documentation that are necessary for approvals. He will also review current regulatory challenges, readily available solutions and the path forward for BVLOS drone operations.
