Welcome to the 50th running of XPONENTIAL. I am inspired by our Theme: Building the Blueprint for Autonomy. It is more than just a theme – we are publishing a Blueprint for Autonomy today for our community.
As I read the Blueprint, three things came to mind:
- How important this effort is
- What and who needs to come together to make it happen
- How can we use our time at XPONENTIAL to accelerate toward Autonomy
Obviously this effort is very important; you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t think so too! We all know about the massive benefits uncrewed and autonomous systems are already creating.
The most important thing we do with this technology is save lives. The defense community we continue to serve that is well-represented here at the show, and the second-largest community represented here is in public safety applications.
Uncrewed systems are bringing access, creating jobs, and adding value to business models and vertical industries worldwide.
It is imperative that we execute these objectives as perfectly as possible — this is the idea behind the Blueprint for Autonomy. Our number one motivation is impeccable safety and security. Who is involved?AUVSI members offer collaboration and cohesion; end-users provide a customer base; policymakers and regulators are addressing how our systems are changing everything; and press and the general public are watching our progress.
How do we best use our time here at XPONENTIAL?
- You will hear great thought leadership from the keynote stage. All the experts you want to hear from are featured in the program.
- You will find the technology solutions and partners you want on the show floor.
- We will celebrate the best and brightest with XPONENTIAL XCELLENCE awards
- Have fun at Networking events!
XPONENTIAL is only 4 days of the year. The other 361, AUVSI is engaged in advocacy, grassroots engagement, and educational learning. You’ll hear and see more of these throughout the week.
