FY 2021 DoD Budget Report

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) remains the largest customer for unmanned systems technologies, with an estimated $7.5 billion budget for FY 2021. Since 2013, AUVSI has been tracking and summarizing that spending for our members, enabling them to make better business decisions as they position for contracts and future opportunities.

In support of that effort, AUVSI has published a detailed analysis of key unmanned systems programs of record for FY21. That report includes:

  • Information on unmanned vehicles and supporting technologies both deployed and under development.
  • Over 1,000 unique efforts that offer some level of support for unmanned vehicle technologies.
  • Trends and projections for future funding.

For accessibility, the report has been separated into three main sections:

  1. Overall trends related to the organizations/branches that have received funding, the technologies that are being funded, and the domains in which the vehicles are operating;
  2. Detailed information on procurement programs (further sectioned by domain of operation); and
  3. Detailed information on Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs (further sectioned by domain of operation).
