 AUVSI's Unmanned Systems Europe 2009
In collaboration with the NATO Undersea Research Centre's (NURC) 50th Anniversary
20-22 April 2009
La Spezia, Italy
About the Conference
European commercial, government and academic organizations are among the world’s leaders in the development and deployment of unmanned systems. Europe is also contributing important milestones in policy, regulation and standards related to unmanned systems, including unmanned air system airspace integration.
AUVSI's Unmanned Systems Europe 2009 will illuminate the current state-of-the-art and future directions in unmanned air, ground and maritime systems from a European perspective. European diversity provides unique challenges and opportunities for the interoperability and marketing of unmanned systems. Europe’s involvement in NATO provides an additional dimension to the unmanned systems sector, including the promulgation of standards. To highlight this dimension, AUVSI's Unmanned Systems Europe 2009 will be associated with NATO’s Undersea Research Centre's (NURC) 50th Anniversary Celebration. NURC’s future plans are focused around unmanned systems, and the Conference and associated NURC activities will provide opportunities to learn more about these future directions.
Programme highlights include:
- Progress in UAS air traffic integration within European airspace and globally
- International cooperation in the development and fielding of scientific, civil and military unmanned systems
- New European initiatives in air, ground and maritime systems
- Communication systems and spectrum management including preparation for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2011
- Energy and power advances including re-fueling and distributed caches for persistence
- Adaptive, networked control in a complex, dynamic environment
- Broad band, high gain sensors including adaptive aperture arrays
