General Information
Who can attend the conference?
What does my registration fee include?
Registration is open to all, and the registration categories include:
Full Registrant Categories:
Civilian/Industry—Open to anyone wishing to attend Unmanned Systems North America 2006.
Exhibitor—Open to those individuals whose company is exhibiting at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2006; and which they are representing. A certain number of complimentary registrations are offered depending upon the amount of space purchased; anything above that allocation must be paid registrations.
Government—Open to anyone wishing to attend Unmanned Systems North America 2006 who is a member of their country’s military, or who works for their country’s local, state or federal government.
Speaker—Open to those selected to present a technical session or poster session at Unmanned Systems North America 2006. The speaker fee is only valid for one speaker per presentation.
All Full Registrant Category registration fees include the following:
- Plenary Session

- Poster Sessions Wednesday and Thursday
- Entry into the Exhibit Hall; includes Opening Reception, Wednesday and Thursday Continental Breakfast, and Wednesday Networking Lunch

Student—Open to anyone wishing to attend Unmanned Systems North America 2006 who is enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. A photocopy of a full-time student ID, with current semester validation, must be submitted with the registration.
The Student registration fee includes the following:
- Plenary Session
- Technical Sessions Wednesday and Thursday
- Poster Sessions Wednesday and Thursday
- Entry into the Exhibit Hall; includes Opening Reception, Wednesday and Thursday Continental Breakfast, and Wednesday Networking Lunch
- Wednesday Night Social Event
- Thursday Awards Luncheon
Exhibit Hall Only—Open to those wishing to visit the exhibit hall only at Unmanned Systems North America 2006. This registration category also applies to friends and family members who wish to accompany a conference attendee into the exhibit hall.
Exhibit Hall Only registrations are available by the day. The registration fee includes the following:
- Wednesday registrants: Entry into exhibit hall; Continental Breakfast and Networking Lunch
- Thursday registrants: Entry into exhibit hall; Continental Breakfast
Exhibitor Booth Personnel—Open to those individuals whose company is exhibiting at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2006; and which they are representing. A certain number of complimentary registrations are offered depending upon the amount of space purchased; anything above that must be paid registrations (this includes static space personnel).
The Exhibitor Booth Personnel registration fee includes the following:
- Entry into the Exhibit Hall; includes Opening Reception, Wednesday and Thursday Continental Breakfast, and Wednesday Networking Lunch
- Wednesday Night Social Event
- Thursday Awards Luncheon
Are the pre-convention programs included in my registration fee?
No, the pre-convention programs are not included in the registration fee. There is a separate fee, which is broken out on the registration form.
What is your cancellation policy for registered attendees?
All cancellation requests must be submitted by fax to +1 703 845 9679, ATTN: Registration. Cancellations will not be accepted by phone or email. If the original payment method was credit card, please be sure to include the credit card type, number to be credited and expiration date.
Your cancellation will be acknowledged by fax or mail. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within two weeks of sending in your cancellation, please contact AUVSI to verify receipt. Registration fees will be refunded four to six weeks following the conference.
Cancellations received by July 28, 2006 will receive a 75% refund; no refunds for cancellations received after July 28, 2006. Substitutions are allowed up until August 7. Substitutions should be submitted by fax to +1 703 845 9679. Refunds will not be made for no-shows.

Does the one day exhibit hall registration include the proceedings?
No, the daily exhibit hall registrations do not include the conference proceedings.
Do registration fees include membership?
Nonmember registration fees include individual membership through December 31, 2007 (exception: pre-convention events and exhibit hall only do NOT include AUVSI membership).
Any way to beat the Tuesday morning rush at registration?
Registration will be open on Monday, August 28th from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. To beat the Tuesday rush, register Monday afternoon.

I’m planning to bring my family. What will the special event be for this year’s conference?
Shhh … it’s a surprise!
Can my spouse accompany me into the exhibit hall? What about my kids?
Only registered and badged attendees will be allowed admittance into the exhibit hall. Family members who would like to view the exhibits must register and pay the exhibit hall fee to receive a badge. Children under the age of 16 will not be admitted into the exhibit hall unless accompanied by an adult at all times. Children four and older will be required to register.
Will there be a UAV Flight Demonstration in Orlando?
There will not be a UAV Flight Demonstration at this show, but we do plan to have another demo in conjunction with AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2007.
How do I get to the hotel?
You can drive, take a shuttle or taxi … The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is located 1.5 miles from the main gate of the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort at the intersection of Osceola Parkway and South International Drive in Kissimmee-St. Cloud, Florida.
Gaylord Palms is a straight shot from the Orlando International Airport south exit, via the Central Florida Greeneway (S.R. 417). For door-to-door driving directions, visit http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylordpalms/get_here/directions.cfm. Be sure to note that you’ll need $2.25 for tolls.
Mears Transportation provides 24-hour shuttle service to and from the Orlando International Airport. To make reservations call 407-423-5566. Shuttles are available on Level 1 on both the A and B sides of the Main Terminal.
Taxis may carry up to 9 passengers, and charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers. The average taxi rate to the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is $60. Taxis are available on Level 1 on both the A and B sides of the Main Terminal.
Will there be luggage storage at the convention center on the last day?
No, there will not be luggage storage at the convention center on the last day. Please check all luggage with the hotel bell stand.
Will there be wireless availability?
Yes, it is available through the business office for an additional fee.
Will I be able to have copies made and access other business services while at the convention?
The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center has a business center that you may use at your expense. AUVSI does not have a complimentary business center for attendees.
Will there be a concierge at the convention center to assist with restaurant reservations and leisure outings in the Orlando area?
The hotel does have a concierge desk located next to the front desk of the hotel. They would be happy to assist you with your requests.
Will there be space available at the convention center for private meetings?
AUVSI has limited meeting space available for use during the conference by corporate members, sponsors and exhibitors. The following criteria apply to all requests:
- Space is available to corporate members, sponsors and exhibitors at no cost
- Space is limited to 2 hours per a day; If space is required for the entire day the request will need to go through the convention center and a rental charge will more than likely be associated with the space
- Space requests can not conflict with the Plenary Session (Tuesday, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.) or the Awards Luncheon (Thursday, Noon – 2:00 p.m.); Requests made during these time periods will not be granted
- Space is open on a first-come, first-served basis
- Any room set-up fees or catering fees will be the responsibility of the individual company

Speakers
Who do I send my biography, paper and/or presentation to?
Each presenter must submit a brief biography (career highlights, publications and other noteworthy events) in 150 words or less. Text should be in a Word document and submitted via email to carr@auvsi.org no later than July 14, 2006.
Speakers must have their presentation to us no later than close of business on Monday, August 14, 2006. Presentation submissions can be made electronically to carr@auvsi.org, or by mail at the address to the left. Presentations can be either Microsoft Power Point slides or Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). If any file is over 6MB, please separate your file into segments CLEARLY marked with file names indicating where to connect (i.e. Smith_1-15.pps; Smith_16-30.pps).
Media
How do I register to attend the conference?
Registration is complimentary for media professionals. The link will be provided here when the registration form is available. When you arrive onsite to pick up your badge, you will be required to show your press credentials to gain admittance.
Will a press room be available to registered media?
There will be a press room conveniently located in the convention center and open during show hours. The room will be available for the media’s use only.
How will I be informed of scheduled press conferences?
Prior to the show, a schedule of press conferences will be emailed to all registered media. Onsite at registration and in the press room, there will be updated copies of the scheduled press conferences. Signage with the daily press schedule will also be available outside of the press conference room.
Will I be able to videotape or record any sessions?
Yes, you will be able to videotape and record the technical sessions.

When is my company description and entry due for inclusion in the Onsite Program?
Both the Company Description and Exhibitor Profile are due by Friday, July 14, 2006. The company description has been changed to include 100 words and your company’s contact information (if so desired). The company description may be submitted online at http://www.auvsi.org.symposium/2006/ExhibDesc06.cfm.
What is included in my booth space purchase?
Booth Fees Include:
- 8’ draped back wall (inline booths only)
- 3’ draped side rail (inline booths only)
- Two-line ID sign (44”x7”) with company’s name and booth number
- Complimentary Registration (determined by total amount of booth space purchased)
- Company listing in the official onsite program
How can I purchase static space in the exhibit hall?
A minimum of 400 sq.ft. of booth space in the main exhibit hall is required for static display purchase. If you have purchased 400 or more square feet of booth space in the main hall, you may purchase a minimum of 400 square feet of static space at $5/sq.ft. There is no discount offered for static display space. Static display spaced is intended for equipment and not a booth structure. Show management reserves the right to refuse static display space to any exhibitor. Each static space display includes three complimentary exhibitor booth personnel only badges.
When will I receive my exhibitor services manual?
Exhibitors should receive their manuals approximately 60 days prior to the show.
How do I get a receipt for my booth payment?
Contact AUVSI at marketing@auvsi.org or +1 703 845 9671 x203 to request a receipt for your booth payment.
What are the penalties for downsizing my booth?
All downsizing requests shall become effective when approved by Show Management. All downsizing requests must be made in writing to AUVSI. A fee of 50% of the difference between the cost of the original total exhibition fee and the downsized exhibition fee will be charged on any Show Management approved downsizing on or before February 28, 2006. The fee increases to 100% of the difference between the original total exhibition fee and the cost of the downsized exhibition fee after February 28, 2006. The above downsizing fees shall be in addition to the actual cost of the downsized exhibition fee.
Should an Exhibitor downsize, AUVSI reserves to right to move the exhibitor and place them in an appropriate size booth.
What are the penalties for canceling my booth?
All cancellations must be made in writing to AUVSI. There will be a cancellation fee of 50% of booth and/or static space cost if written cancellation is received by February 28, 2006. There will be a cancellation fee of 100% of booth and/or static space cost if written cancellation is received after February 28, 2006.
Credit to Exhibitor for Replacement Business. AUVSI shall mitigate its losses. If AUVSI is able to resell the cancelled booth and/or static space, the exhibitor will receive a full refund minus a $500 cancellation fee if the space is resold by February 28, 2006. If the space is resold after February 28, 2006, the exhibitor will receive a full refund minus a $1000 cancellation fee.
How do I gain access to the Exhibitor’s Lounge?
All exhibitors have complimentary access to the lounge. Non-exhibitors and guests of exhibitors will not be granted access.
What are the regulations on hosting a reception at my booth?
An exhibitor may host a reception at their booth but must follow Show Management’s guidelines. No reception/function can conflict with AUVSI’s official program (including plenary sessions, technical sessions, and/or meal functions). The reception must be open to all attendees – selective invitations are not permitted. All receptions will be at the exhibitor’s expense.
