AUVSI'S PRIVACY POLICY WAS UPDATED ON January 20, 2022

The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International d/b/a the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (referred to in this Privacy Policy as “AUVSI”, “we”, “us”, “our”, “ours”, or the “Site”) is committed to helping protect the privacy of members, customers, subscribers, registrants, attendees, exhibitors, and any others (“you”, “your”, “yours”, “user”, or “users”) who may use the Site. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their Personally Identifiable Information (“PII” or “personal information” or “information”) is being collected and used. PII, as described in applicable laws, regulations and information security guidelines, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. As used in this Privacy Policy, “Site” means AUVSI’s primary website, any related or derivative websites or webpages, including those of AUVSI’s chapters, any other published content (“blogs” and similar formats), and any business applications (“apps”).

When joining, renewing, purchasing, registering, subscribing, or making any other transaction to obtain a product, service, or information, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, business information, or other details necessary to complete the transaction and enhance your experience.

We may use the information we collect from you when you in the following ways:

How do we protect your information?
Our Site is scanned on a regular basis for security threats and known vulnerabilities, using malware scanning tools. Therefore, while we strive to protect your PII, we cannot guarantee the absolute security, integrity, and privacy of any or all information exchanged between you and us through the Site. Do we use “cookies”?
Yes. Profile
The Site may also allow you to create a profile (“Profile”) and be featured in a member directory. Submission of information for your Profile is voluntary. We wish to remind you that any information you disclose in your Profile or in the member directory, including any Personally Identifiable Information, will become public information and visible to other users. You may opt out of making such information public by not submitting such information or adjusting your privacy settings on the site.

Google

We use Google AdSense Advertising on our Site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve advertisement to you based on previous visits to our site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt-out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network privacy policy.

We have implemented the following:

We, along with third-party vendors such as Google use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website.

California Online Privacy Protection Acts
Pursuant to CalOPPA, we note the following:

  • Users can visit our Site anonymously.
  • You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page
  • Can change your personal information by logging in to your account
  • We honor Do Not Track signals and do not track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place.
  • We allow third-party behavioral tracking

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)
We care about the safety of children using our Site and encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children’s use of the Internet. Although the Site is suitable for a general audience, the Site is intended for use only by users who are over 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority, whichever is greater). Accordingly, we do not knowingly solicit Personally Identifiable Information from children under the age of 18 and reserve the right to limit participation in particular activities on or through the Site to individuals above a certain age. Fair Information Practices
Should a breach, theft or loss of data occur, we will notify you via email within seven business days, or as soon as reasonably practicable thereafter, of determining that such an action may have occurred.

CAN SPAM Act
