Northrop Grumman Corp. and the Republic of Korea have entered into a sole-source contract for four RQ-4B Block 30 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft systems.

The $657 million dollar contract also includes two spare engines, ground control environments and an enhanced sensor suite in addition to the four aircraft.

Work under the foreign military sale will come to completion late June 2019. The sale had been expected for more than a year.

The finalized contract coincides with the Republic of Korea’s announcement that it intends to purchase Israel Aerospace Industries’ Heron UAS for the corps-level UAV upgrade project.
