Finalists for Innovation Challenge at AUVSI USDPS announced
Overwatch Imaging, Ghost Robotics, Planck Aerosystems, SubUAS LLC and CVEDIA are the five finalists for the inaugural Innovation Challenge at AUVSI Unmanned Systems—Defense. Protection. Security. (USDPS).
These companies were selected from a field of more than 30 startups that applied, and cover the gamut of unmanned systems, including air, ground and maritime.
Overwatch Imaging specializes in precision aerial photography from small- and medium-sized UAS, with a focus on intelligent multi-band mapping and auto-detection on long endurance UAS.
Ghost Robotics develops legged robotics that can be used in various settings, including unstructured and vertical terrain, and harsh environments.
Planck Aerosystems focuses on next generation UAS autonomy, and says it is the world’s first autonomous UAS company to focus on use cases operating from moving vehicles.
SubUAS was a part of the first combination aerial and underwater bridge inspection, which used the Naviator, a hybrid unmanned vehicle that can fly and swim.
And finally, CVEDIA is the developer of SynCity, a hyper-realistic simulation platform for the development and deployment of autonomous applications.
The final round will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 4:15-5:25 p.m. Each finalist will have six minutes to pitch their technology and four minutes to answer questions from the Innovation Challenge Advisory Panel, which will provide feedback and guidance.
A winner will be decided by the USDPS audience, but all five finalists will receive one Exhibits Only-One Day Pass, recognition on the USDPS Innovation Challenge webpage, and recognition in the USDPS onsite program.
