UVision announced today at the Paris Air Show that it is releasing a line of beyond-line-of-sight precision loitering unmanned aircraft systems.

Called the HERO family, the drones are made for pinpoint strikes in urban and remote areas, according to the company. They are integrated with electro-optical/infrared cameras and can be used by every level of military service, says a company press release.

"As pioneers in the field of miniature aerial munitions systems, we are responsive to the needs of our customers, and have developed a complete family of solutions, suited to a wide range of applications and scenarios,” says Yair Dubester, president and CEO of UVision. “We have invested considerable resources in development in order to enable our customers to benefit from cutting-edge solutions — in terms of electro-optics, warheads, extended loitering time and a wider communication radius. All these features make the HERO family the most advanced in the field."

The system can select predetermined targets using GPS. When an attack is aborted, the mission commander can recall the aircraft and he or she can select a new target.

The family of UAS are available in six different configurations for different tasks and ranges.
