AUVSI’s Brian Wynne to Deliver Keynote Address at
ACT-IAC Internet of Things and Drones Forum

AUVSI president and CEO to discuss future of UAS technology with members of
American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council

WASHINGTON – Brian Wynne, president and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), will give the keynote address on Wednesday, July 26, at the 2017 Drones and Internet of Things Forum, hosted by the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) in Washington. Wynne will highlight the current state of the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry in the United States and how businesses across the country flying UAS for commercial purposes can provide valuable information to government agencies that may adopt the technology in the future.

“It is an honor to speak with ACT-IAC members to discuss how government agencies can benefit from incorporating UAS into their existing operations,” said Wynne. “The UAS industry is primed for incredible growth, but there is still work to be done. Discussions between stakeholders, such as those taking place Wednesday, are critical to fully integrating UAS into our airspace and allowing more people than ever to tap into the tremendous potential of this technology.”

Wynne’s keynote address will begin a morning of sessions on how UAS and the Internet of Things (IoT) can help government agencies perform tasks more safely and efficiently than traditional methods. Sessions include information about current regulations, the technology driving UAS operations and a series of UAS and IoT use cases.

An AUVSI report on the economic impact of commercial UAS has forecasted the industry to create more than 100,000 new jobs and more than $82 billion in economic impact within the first ten years following UAS integration into the U.S. airspace.
