LEADERSHIP & NETWORKING

Board of Directors
The AUVSI Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and strategic direction of the Association. The board determines the mission and focus of AUVSI, sets year and long-term goals and objectives, reviews new programs and initiatives, approves the annual operating plan and budget, and monitors the ongoing financial affairs of the organization.

Advocacy Committee
The advocacy committee sets the legislative and regulatory priorities for the Association based on input and feedback from the membership. The committee focuses at the federal level and develops policy positions and talking points to enable all AUVSI members to speak with a unified voice as advocates for the growth of the unmanned systems industry.

State and Federal Policy Initiative
This initiative addresses legislative and regulatory issues facing the unmanned systems community at the state and local levels of government, ensuring alignment with federal policy precedent. By monitoring policy developments around the country, they are able to leverage the work of the advocacy committee to assert the Association’s policy priorities through direct intervention and or activation of grassroots support via the Chapter network.

Remote Pilots Council

Remote Pilots Council
The AUVSI Remote Pilots Council provides a forum for remote pilots to engage directly with one another and the FAA. The Remote Pilots Council seeks to provide feedback on real-world operations, better understand the FAA waiver process and offer suggestions for increased efficiency, discuss operational challenges and potential solutions from within the industry, and prioritize needs for additional regulation. The council meets at the local and regional level in coordination with AUVSI chapters

Counter-UAS Council
The AUVSI Counter-UAS Council is a forum for stakeholders to discuss how to mitigate malicious, irresponsible, and reckless operations through Counter-UAS measures. Our goal is to identify public policy and innovative technology solutions that will ensure safe and secure UAS operations in the nation’s airspace. This initiative directly supports the Association’s mission of ensuring the safe and responsible use of unmanned systems technologies.

AUVSI Chapters
AUVSI chapters enable members to connect with their local unmanned systems community throughout the year, providing a variety of networking and educational opportunities at a local and regional level across the U.S. and around the world. Chapters are volunteer led and memberships reflect the diversity of the broader AUVSI network, including industry professionals, academics and government officials. Many chapters are also involved in advocating for the industry at the state and local government levels.
