ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION
The Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha seeks applicants for a tenure track faculty position. Candidates for the position should be able to teach undergraduate courses in the Aviation Institute’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems concentration as well as in the Institute’s core curriculum. In particular, candidates should have the capacity to teach undergraduate courses in unmanned aircraft systems operations, mission planning, and advanced UAS procedures.
Additionally, candidates should be able to teach some courses within the core curriculum such as aviation policy, management, regulation, law, and transportation research. A successful candidate will possess a doctorate in a discipline related to aviation, transportation, or a field utilizing UAS for research and engagement, including engineering, geography, public administration, public policy, and political science. ABDs will be considered, but must demonstrate the capacity to complete the requirements of the doctorate prior to the August 2018 preferred start date. A successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for funded research, scholarly publications, and excellence in the classroom. Preferred qualifications include professional experience with UAS operations, UAS and aviation policy and regulation, as well as UAS / aviation research, consulting, or management.
