America faces an education crisis. The demand for professionals qualified in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) has steadily grown as the number of students graduating in these fields has diminished. The AUVSI Foundation was created to give students the opportunity to participate in fun, hands-on robotics activities that stimulate and sustain their interest in STEM throughout their academic careers.
SeaPerch is an easy to assemble, underwater ROV (remotely operated vehicle) that serves as a perfect entry point into robotics for late elementary and middle school students. The SeaPerch curriculum was developed by the MIT Sea Grant College and is designed to teach students how to build underwater robots.
