Ensuring Compliance with DO-178b/C for the Design and Development of UAVs - FREE

Software development, verification, validation, and especially certification of unmanned aircraft systems will be the major costs and risks to be encountered. UAVs are VERY similar to commercial aircraft which require DO-178 compliance. Complex avionics, complex integration, COTS, pilot (external), landing/take-offs, commercial airspace, tools qualifications , re-use, etc. make compliance a necessity. Increased software size and complexity for aircraft systems renders the task of certifying them significantly more challenging and costly, particularly for smaller UAVs.

Speaker:
Tony Baghai, vice president, Atego HighRely
